Regional Variants
Land Variant
One of the more standard and common place Bowlies, Land Bowlies live on the land (shocker). They reside in regions of average climate with average rainfall.
Sea Variant
These aquatic Bowlies that live underwater can be found under the sea (however some reside within rivers that are deep enough for them to make homes in). Their homes usually consist of rocks, rusted metal (dumped waste product) and seaweed, among other things found underwater. They have gills and a scaly hide. They have webbing between their fingers and toes and can possess bodily fins. Although they can surface for a couple of minutes, they are unable to leave the water for a prolonged period of time due to their evolution.
Desert Variant
These Bowlies have evolved to be able to withstand the harsh desert heat and as such tend to either have shorter fur or a scaly coat. These Bowlies have larger paws compared to other non desert Bowlies which allow for easier traversal over the sand. The majority of desert Bowlies have pale, naturally coloured coats in order to reflect the desert sun.
Tundra Variant
These Bowlies are super fluffy, tails included. They have a thicker than usual coat to account for the mostly cold climate they live in. They have 2 coats, a pale winter coat and a darker, shorter summer coat. They shed their winter coat every summer, as during the summer (due to the sun and warmer temperatures) their icy habit melts revealing the limited plant life below; making their habitat too warm for their thick winter coats. Tundra Bowlies are larger in stature than all other known Bowlie variants.
Rainforest Variant
These Bowlies tend to be brightly coloured and slightly feathered. They are often observed with beaks glued onto their bowls. They are more bird-like than other Bowlies, even Sky Bowlies, with bird-like paws and feet.
Swamp / Marsh Variant
These Bowlies tend to have darker pelts to camouflage with their dull environment. They have bodies covered with spines, and tend to be highly fascinated with the occult.
Sky Variant
Rare Bowlies who live in the sky, as the name suggests. They have a cloud based society and are largely reclusive, keeping to other Sky Bowlies. They weigh next to nothing, which is what allows them to safely live up in the clouds. They have large, functional wings on their back which allow them to fly. They also have feathered tails, like birds.
